Islay Beach Rugby 2013 - 10TH ANNIVERSARY

LET'S GET THE PARTY STARTED!!!

SATURDAY 8TH JUNE - GET IT IN THE DIARY NOW!

Well Ladies and Gentlemen we're only a few months away from the best Rugby weekend of the year and unbelievably it's our 10th Anniversary! and for those of you that have taken part, and more importantly SURVIVED all ten years, we salute you.

We have had overwhelming interest in the tournament this year and we are looking to make it the biggest and best EAT SAND tournament to date.

For those of you that don't already know, Islay, the famous whisky island on Scotland's wild west coast, hosts a small and exclusive beach rugby tournament on the second weekend of June.

Limited by tide and sand to only 32 teams (22 mens, 10 ladies), for those in the know, this is one of rugby's most eagerly sought after invitations of the year.

Hard fought, full contact, bare footed, physically demanding, but fun matches are played on Kilnaughton Bay's beach, conveniently located in front of the White Hotel in the picturesque village of Port Ellen.

Convivial and relaxed, it is considered by some to be Scotland's most enjoyable rugby event;  it may be the Friday night beach barbeque and dance or the Saturday night open air rock concert, but mainly it is Islay, the rugby camaraderie and the craic.

All are welcome - wives, girlfriends and family - bring your shorts you may even get a game.

Life's a beach. And then there's Islay Beach Rugby.
